Are you curious about the mostly underexposed work and lives of women artists within the Amsterdam School? And would you like to contribute to reliable information about the women within this art and architecture movement on Wikipedia? Then this writing afternoon is for you!
The occasion is the exhibition Unseen Talent: Women of the Amsterdam School at the Amsterdam museum Het Schip. Featuring much previously unexhibited work, from textiles and ceramics to graphics and architecture, this exhibition shows both their varied oeuvres and the heady world in which they were created.
During this afternoon, we will get to work ourselves: under the guidance of experienced Wikipedia editors, you will learn how to write and edit articles. You will be given useful tips, a clear manual and suggestions for what to write about. For instance, about craftswoman Cathrien Bogtman or Grietje Kots, who was a painter and draughtswoman as well as a mask, puppet and marionette maker.
Whether you are a beginner or already experienced - everyone is welcome!
