Exhibition 'Forty women to never forget', 2025, photographer: Talking History

From 20 February 2025, the travelling exhibition Forty women to never forget, about 1st-generation Turkish and Moroccan women in the Netherlands, will be on display in Atria's library.

For this project, Sprekende geschiedenis has interviewed women who are (have been) active in organisations of/for Turkish and Moroccan women in the cities of Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague and Eindhoven.

Come along and be inspired by personal video interviews, valuable archive footage and beautiful textile banners.

Upon completion of the project, the stories will be included in Atria's Oral History collection to preserve them for future generations.

The project was carried out in memory of Özden Yalim (1946 - 2023), advocate of Turkish women's rights and one of the initiators of the project.
