Introduction on female animation filmmakers and their underrepresentation by animation historian Mette Peters (in English).13.30 - 16.00: Learn how to co-write the world's largest internet encyclopaedia under the guidance of experienced Wikipedia editors.
We'll give you names of female animation authors and sources you can get started with, but of course you may also browse Eye's (digital) collection yourself.

Date and time: 20 March 2026, 12.30pm - 4pm.
Location: Eye Study at Eye Collection Centre, Asterweg 26, Amsterdam. Nb this is a different location to Eye Filmmuseum.

An international festival for audiences and professionals alike, Kaboom Animation Festival showcases the breadth and versatility of animation in various film competitions and themed programmes, ranging from pioneering experimental arthouse films to colourful stories for families and children. This year, Kaboom launches the new retrospective cycle Yass Queen! to honour pioneering women in animation. Four female animation masters have been selected for this first edition: Monique Renault, Florence Mihailhe, Joanna Quinn and Réka Bucsi.
