Wiki Friday is organised by Wikimedia's Gender Gap Working Group in collaboration with IHLIA LGBTI Heritage and Atria, and takes place every month, alternating between Atria and IHLIA. Our goal: to enable participants to write more about women's issues and/or LGBTIQ+ topics on Wikipedia. This month, we will meet at IHLIA. The theme is: Queer to support.

Our goal: to enable participants to write more about women's issues and/or LGBTIQ+ topics on Wikipedia. This month, we will meet at IHLIA. The theme is: Queer to support.
The inspiration for this theme is (Un)documented: Queer refugees in the Netherlands, an exhibition by Ihlia and Queer to Support, the queer community of Here to Support. The exhibition, which is open until 15 February 2026, shows the experiences of queer refugees in the Netherlands from the perspective of political policy, the asylum procedure, and the organisations, initiatives, and communities in which they find support. Participants from Queer to Support are curating and helping to build the expansion, which was presented at the public programme on 28 January 2026.
For Wiki Fridays, you are expected to arrive at 1 p.m. at the location where you can work freely on Wikipedia articles until 4 p.m. The meeting is open to both new and experienced Wikipedia editors. We provide a pleasant environment in which we work together on Wikipedia articles. Experienced Wikipedia mentors will help you with your first or next steps on Wikipedia and/or Commons.
Location
IHLIA, OBA (Amsterdam Public Library) Oosterdok, Oosterdokskade 143, Amsterdam. 3rd floor, room 3.1.
